Nearly 20 members comprise the Precinct 2 Mounted Patrol.
Used for ceremonial as well as practical law enforcement duties, this proud body of community volunteers has already earned a notable reputation in Montgomery County.
The Mounted Patrol trains for Search and Rescue missions in difficult terrain, assisting in the search for missing persons. The group has also participated in several special events, such as the Lion's Club annual Rodeo and the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo held each spring.
In a special honor, the Mounted Patrol was one of the teams that made the pony express run from Houston to Austin, delivering Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo tickets to the Governor of Texas.
